Regular Halter
Halters can be made as shown, with a snap at the throat, and/or with an adjustable noseband. They are available in horse and Arab sizes. (For smaller or larger sizes, please send us the measurements you need.) Use it alone or with a Snap-On Headstall.
Snap-On Headstall
The Snap-On Headstall is designed to be snapped onto your horse’s halter to convert it into a halter-bridle combo. You can customize it in several ways including snap ends instead of buckles or a V-shaped browband instead of the regular browband. Available in horse and Arab sizes.
horse size = bit-to-bit measurement of 34-43″
Arab size = bit-to-bit measurement of 30-40″
For smaller or larger sizes, please send us the measurements you need.
The picture at the left shows a Snap-On Headstall attached to a halter.
Western Headstall
Like the Snap-On Headstall, you can customize this type of headstall in many ways. The person who ordered this headstall chose a V-shaped browband with a star accent at the point of the V. Western Headstalls are available in horse and Arab sizes. For smaller or larger sizes, please send us the measurements you need.
On the left is a western headstalland on the right is a more simple one-ear western headstall with no throat latch or browband. Both show the option of having snaps at the bottom (instead of buckles) for quick bit changes. (At the bottom is a pair of leg bands.)
Trail Halter Bridle (aka Trail Halter with Bit Hangers)
An alternative to the Snap-On Headstall, the Trail Halter is like a regular halter but has rings on each side for clipping on the bit hangers. This one also has an adjustable noseband. Trail Halters are available in horse and Arab sizes. For smaller or larger sizes, please send us the measurements you need.
Please note that if you want your tack made with more than two colors (like pictured here) there is an extra fee.
Bitless Bridle (Dr. Cook Style)
This style of bitless bridle features straps that criss-cross under the horse’s jaw and pass through rings on either side of the noseband. You can connect your reins of choice to the rings at the ends of the straps. Because the straps criss-cross under the horse’s jaw, a gentle pull on the left rein exerts pressure on the right side of the horse’s head, encouraging him/her to turn to the left. Available in horse and Arab sizes. (For smaller or larger sizes, please provide the measurements you would like used.)
Sidepull Bridle
A sidepull bridle is similar to a halter, but has rings on either side of the noseband for attaching reins. Available in horse and Arab sizes. (For smaller or larger sizes, please provide the measurements you would like used.)
Paso Headstall aka Paso Jaquima (right) and Matching Bit Hanger (left)
A Jaquima is a piece of equipment that is primarily used with Paso Finos, Trote y Galope and Trocha horses, but can benefit any breed of horse. A Jaquima is similar to a hackamore and is the traditional training tool for the Paso Fino or Criollo Horse of South America. As pictured here, the bit hanger has a snap at the poll to attach it to the Jaquima.
Curb Strap with Stainless Steel Chain and Beta Ends (in bright green, on left)
Curb Strap in Rolled Beta (three color examples, on right)
A curb chain, or curb strap, is a piece of horse tack required for proper use on any type of curb bit. It is a flat linked chain or flat strap that runs under the chin groove of the horse, between the bit shank’s purchase arms. The main use of the curb chain is to enhance and control the lever action of a curb bit. Additionally, it helps to keep the bit steady and in place within the mouth.
Trail Blazers can make your curb strap in beta, stainless steel chain with beta ends (as pictured) or rolled beta (also pictured). You can also get a Paso Fino curb strap.
Padded Noseband for a Hackamore
If you have a mechanical or S-hackamore and you want the noseband to match the rest of your tack, this is what you need. Please note that this is the padded noseband ONLY, with no shanks.
If you like the S-hackamores some people in the Facebook group use with their horses, you can get just the stainless steel shanks here.
